There is something wonderfully unexpected about our Playful pendant light.
Part of our new Signature Range, Playful takes the clean, sculptural simplicity that defines AssembLIT and gives it a gentle twist – quite literally. Its vertical pieces follow a subtle squiggle-like form, creating soft changes in direction that introduce movement, rhythm and personality without overwhelming the overall design.
The result is a pendant light that feels relaxed, contemporary and just a little unconventional.
While our Serene pendant is calm and composed, Playful has a little more energy. The curved, gently wandering profile of its individual pieces draws the eye around the pendant, creating an interesting silhouette that shifts depending on where you view it from. It feels different from every angle, yet remains beautifully balanced as a whole.
The Signature Slant
One of the defining characteristics of our Signature Range is the way the individual pieces are assembled at a slight angle rather than sitting completely straight.
In our Playful pendant light, this subtle slant works particularly well with the squiggle-shaped profile of the vertical pieces. The combination creates an impression of gentle rotation and movement around the light, giving the pendant a more dynamic, three-dimensional quality.
But the slant isn’t purely decorative.
Angling the individual pieces also reduces the open space between them, helping to soften direct glare from the exposed bulb while still allowing light to filter beautifully through the pendant. It’s a small design detail that has a surprisingly effective result – adding both visual intrigue and purpose.
Make Playful Your Own
The idea behind our Signature Range is simple: choose a design that reflects your personality, then make it your own.
Your Playful pendant light is available in three heights – 20 cm, 30 cm and 40 cm – and two diameters, 40 cm and 65 cm, allowing you to alter the proportions and presence of the design to suit your space.
Choose a smaller combination for a bedroom, entrance hall, reading corner or above a kitchen counter, or create greater impact with a 65 cm diameter pendant over a dining table or in a larger living area. The different height and diameter combinations also subtly change the character of the design, from compact and quirky to more elongated and sculptural.
Then there’s colour.
Playful pendant light is available in our full AssembLIT colour range, giving you the freedom to make it quietly complementary or turn it into a feature. Choose a neutral shade for a softer architectural look, introduce colour for a more expressive result, or opt for our premium woodgrain ply to celebrate the warmth and natural character of timber.
Designed to Be Noticed
Playful works beautifully in contemporary, Scandinavian, Japandi, eclectic and modern interiors, but it doesn’t need to be confined to a particular decorating style. Its clean construction keeps it modern, while its unusual shape gives it enough personality to work in more colourful and individual spaces too.
It is particularly effective where your Playful pendant light can be seen from different viewpoints. As you walk around it, the angled pieces overlap and separate, changing the pattern of light, shadow and negative space.
During the day, it becomes a sculptural feature in its own right. At night, the illuminated bulb brings the layers, angles and subtle curves to life.
